Fire

from Loving In Stereo by Jungle

about

Fire was a trailblazer for the sonic landscape of Loving In Stereo. It’s the first track where more aggressive drum breaks were explored. It also greatly inspired the sonic palette for ‘Talk About It’ and ‘What D’you Know About Me?’. For us it gave a new energy level to the music we thought we could make.

A lot of what Fire is about is just capturing that energy on tape. Fire came about very quickly and never really changed on it’s journey as the album was being made. We had been experimenting with synthesis and saturation, and the perception of what those sonics felt like. We had Juno 60 synthesiser that we ran through an amp emulator which to us made it feel like there was guitar on this track even though you can’t be sure there is. We became fascinated with idea of perception and idea of creating mystery in specific sonics.
